Flooding across Hawaiʻi beginning in March 2026 has left families displaced, homes damaged, and communities facing urgent and immediate needs. For many, the path to recovery begins now, and it cannot wait.
At the Hawaiian Council, we believe that in moments like this, we show up for one another. Through Kākoʻo Maui, we witnessed the strength of our lāhui - coming together to provide critical financial assistance, housing support, and pathways to recovery for families impacted by the Maui wildfires. That same commitment drives us today.

In March 2026, the Hawaiian Council launched Kākoʻo Mai, a coordinated effort to deliver immediate relief and ongoing support to those affected by this disaster.
Kākoʻo Mai is a donation campaign to aid communities and individuals impacted by the floods and weather events beginning in March 2026. Funding will support evolving needs, including providing housing stability services, financial assistance, and other services to support impacted communities.

Every donation will be matched by the Hawaiian Council and our corporate partners, up to $411,500, doubling the impact of your support for families in need. A heartfelt mahalo to Ko Olina ($10,000), Alaska Airlines & Hawaiian Airlines ($25,000), Motive8 Foundation ($50,000), Hawai‘i Staffing and Services ($15,000), Kaiser Permanente ($100,000), First Hawaiian Bank ($25,000) , Metallica Foundation ($50,000), Bank of Hawai‘i ($25,000), Sage Creamery ($6,500), and AES ($3,000) for helping us expand this effort.
